Dear Members,

The time is getting near for hearings to begin on the bills that we are proposing for this legislative session.  We have put careful thoughts and time into the bills and with your assistance we will do our best to have a successful year.  I will put information on the internet as soon as possible for you to read.  The bills have been explained to your district chapter officers who attend the quarterly meetings.  You can access these bills by going to the Missouri Legislature on the internet and going to House Bills or Senate Bills.  You can help out by making copies and taking one or more to work with you and laying a copy in the break areas or placing on the appropriate bulletin boards for co-workers.  It is important that you get the information out and also share with co-workers.

We will have our annual Lobby Day starting on Tuesday, March 11,2003 and ending on Wednesday, March 12, 2003.  We are having our quarterly meeting on Tuesday from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and at 5:30 P.M. a reception for the Missouri Department of Transportation Commissioners, Director Hungerbeeler and guest speakers attending Lobby Day.  At approximately 7:30 P.M., the association members and officers will have a meeting with our guests and time permitting a question and answer session.

I hope that all members and fellow employees have a chance to learn what the association is providing for them in time and effort to make their workplace a safe and enjoyable place to work.  We appreciate the help we get from all of our chapters and will continue to ask for even more assistance in the future.  In our fifty-two years of existence, we have made valuable contributions to the employees of MoDOT.  With your support and allegiance, the association will continue to achieve even greater goals.  Thank you.

Respectfully,
